Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ’s For Careseekers

  • What is Zelderly?

    • Zelderly is an app available to install on iPhone and Android devices that allows you to search, schedule, and pay for local Caregivers to come to your home or the home of your loved one to help with daily living activities or simply to provide companionship to those in need.

  • What does Zelderly consider as “Daily living activities”?

    • Includes:

      • light cleaning

      • laundry

      • meal prep

      • organizing

      • transportation

      • help with errands

      • grocery shopping

      • help with pets

    • Does not include:

      • anything that requires physical contact (bathing, toileting, dressing, feeding, etc)

      • heavy lifting

      • filling prescriptions

      • providing medical advice

      • paying for items without reimbursement

      • handling medications

  • Do Zelderly Caregivers have Healthcare experience?

    • Many Caregivers listed on Zelderly do have Healthcare experience, but many also do not. Zelderly does not condone any visits that will require administering medication or providing hands-on contact with patients. Zelderly does not provide any health care training to it’s Caregiver community nor does it require Caregivers to be certified to become a Caregiver.

  • Does Zelderly accept insurance?

    • Not directly, no, but many insurance companies provide long term care insurance options that are directly deposited into your bank account when enacted, allowing their customers to choose any caregiver solution they prefer. Zelderly also provides a detailed history of every care request completed which includes check-in/check-out time, payments made, a daily journal of services provided, and even location tracking of the caregiver while checked in and providing care. This level of detail should suffice for any sort of receipt needed for proof of care if requested by your insurance provider. Please first check with your insurance provider before assuming any reimbursements as Zelderly does not work directly with any insurance provider and cannot guarantee any reimbursements for care provided.

  • How does Zelderly protect my credit card information?

    • Zelderly partners with www.stripe.com for all payment processing through the Zelderly App. Millions of companies all over the world use Stripe to securely take and receive payments, so rest assured knowing that your credit card information is safe and protected.

  • Do I have to sign any long term agreements to use Zelderly?

    • Absolutely not. One of the key benefits of using the Zelderly app is that there are no minimum booking requirements. In fact, we recommend booking a new Caregiver for 1 hour simply to get to know them before committing to longer visits.

  • If I am the Admin to the Careseeker Account and do not live at the same address as the Patient that is in need of care, how do I know if the Caregiver completed a shift at the Patient location?

    • The Zelderly App includes a feature that uses location tracking of Caregivers that is activated when a Caregiver checks in and deactivates when a Caregiver checks out, so you will see exactly where the Caregiver is located at all times while he/she is checked in and providing care for your loved one. Caregiver movements during a shift are also stored for each visit in the History section of your Zelderly App.

  • Do I have any control over payments given to Caregivers?

    • Yes, absolutely. After every Caregiver completes a shift, the Careseeker Admin will receive an alert to approve the payment. As an Admin, you have the ability to approve the payment or correct the number of hours that the Caregiver logged which will change the payment amount. You also have the ability to approve or deny expenses that the Caregiver reported during the shift if applicable. Please note, if you are suspected of not approving payments that are legitimately earned by the Caregiver, you risk being removed from the Zelderly platform and could also face legal action if deemed necessary.

FAQ’s For Caregivers

  • How much does Zelderly pay Caregivers?

    • All Caregivers approved to be listed on the Zelderly app have the unique ability to choose their own hourly rate. This hourly rate is chosen during the setup process, but Caregivers always have the ability to log into their own Account Settings to modify their hourly rate at any time. Please note, hourly rates cannot be changed during an active shift.

  • How does the Referral Rewards section work with Zelderly?

    • This section is very lucrative for Caregivers. Simply by adding the name, email, and phone number of potential Caregivers and/or Careseekers into the Zelderly Referral Rewards section Zelderly will automatically track whether or not the referrals download and register with Zelderly. Even more importantly, the Zelderly App will track your rewards and pay you $1 for every hour worked by each referral up to $2,000 for Caregivers and $200 for hours booked by Careseekers. Just imagine, if you refer only 10 Caregivers that work full time on Zelderly (40 hours/week), that’s an additional $20,000 per year in earnings potential simply by providing referrals. Please note that to take advantage of this Referral Rewards practice you as the Caregiver must also continue to work at least 10 hours per month through the Zelderly App.

  • Do I need to be certified as a Caregiver to be accepted to Zelderly?

    • No, even though many Caregivers are certified and we recommend you emphasize any certifications you might have in your profile to entice potential Careseekers to hire you, Zelderly does not require that you hold any specific certifications to be listed on the Zelderly network.

  • Will I need to pass a background check to be accepted to Zelderly?

    • Yes, during your initial registration process your account will remain locked until you have officially passed a background check. You will be responsible for paying for your own background check (cost is $29.99 via the Zelderly website), but this is the only cost you will be expected to incur. Background checks are provided through Zelderly’s partner, Checkr.

  • How often does Zelderly pay Caregivers?

    • Zelderly payments to Caregivers are made every 2-3 days immediately following each logged Care visit. Zelderly requires all Caregivers to be paid via Direct Deposit and all deposits are securely managed through Zelderly’s 3rd party payment processor, Stripe (www.stripe.com).
